Windows 10: Start Menu tiles

Discus and support Start Menu tiles in Windows 10 Support to solve the problem; I have mistakenly dragged my mail tile/ icon from the Start Menu in W.10 to the desktop.     I have mistakenly dragged my mail tile/ icon from the Start Menu in W.10 to the desktop.
    How can I return it to the start menu ? ( drag and drop does not work )

    Hi!

    How are you trying to add tiles? Pinning to start menu is the common approach. Right click app and select pin to start menu. If your tile side of start menu is full turn on Show more tiles.

    Start Menu tiles

    Welcome to TenForums!

    I hadn't realised you could do that! I've just created a Test account to log into and try it out. The answer I found is that you should right-click on the Mail tile on the Desktop and select 'Unpin from Start'. Now right-click on it again and select 'Pin to Start'.

    Once it's back on the Start menu you can right-click on the Desktop one and delete it (or leave it there as as an alternative way to get to Mail, if you wish).
