Windows 10: Startup Slow

Thanks Jim for the stuff on CC Cleaner and other applications of this nature. . .have always hated these programs especially when I have to fix them after some one with out computer experience attempt to use them.

 

Agreed, loose the SAS, unnecessary.

Ccleaner and MBAM are a personal preference.

 

I use CCleaner a few times a year to see how much temp file buildup I have, followed by Puran Boot-Time Defrag with Full Disk Check on my non-SSD rigs. I've seen no documented case of CCleaner ever messing up a system with either its Disk or Registry cleaner.

Malwarebytes and SAS are good on-demand scanners to have on hand if you think you're infected but they don't need to be running at Startup, so decline their free trial.

However if you've already bought MBAM because you get regularly infected it is an excellent solution in Windows 7 and has ended reinfection for all of those for whom it is recommended because they get regularly infected.

 

SAS is good for scans. I don't believe in real time shields as they often mess up your system or just don't do anything but take up space in memory. If you use Firefox or chrome browser Privacy Badger AddOn eliminates tracking cookies. Just install it. My SAS scan went from 52 tracking cookies to 0 just by installing Privacy Badger. Maybe once a week SAS will detect a PUP.
