How can I remove password/e-mail/address etc from my screen when I first 'power-on'?

You may wonder "why would I want to" and its not an unreasonable question! So, this is my only reason:

Following a stroke several years ago, I have virtually no short-term memory, and I don't particularly want to fumble my way through a whole lot of 'hand-written info'.

For instance, when I was using Windows 7, I simply left it blank wherever it is I was directed to when first setting-up, so whenever I turned on my pc the homepage picture appeared and I just tapped the cursor over it and it went straight to my desktop. I then kept one secure password which I typed into a secret page which I then printed out, and kept inside secret place.

I even forgot where that place was occasionally, but my wife and my mum both knew, so I just asked one or the other if I got stuck!

My wife is currently away for 4 days visiting her family up North, and she is a bugger for not carrying her phone around. In-fact, when I called it yesterday, it rang in our kitchen!!!!! My mum (who is 83) is currently very unwell, so I didn't like to bother her.

So, I have just managed to get hold of her this evening on her sister's landline, which thankfully is stored in the phone. Hell, I don't know my own number.

Oh and finally, can you add onion rings to that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    :)

  3. Cannot launch Settings on startup menu

    Hi Luky,

Thank you for posting your reply.

I suggest you to perform a Startup Repair by following the steps below.

    • In the Lock screen, press/hold the shift key and click on power icon>restart.
    • Click on Troubleshoot>Advanced Options>Startup Repair and follow the prompts to start the Startup Repair.
After the Startup Repair is complete, check for the status.

    Regards

Adding programs to startup with Windows 7?

You could add entries to the registry to launch the apps on startup, but it's easier to just add them to the startup foler as Newt suggested.
