  1. STARTUP

I recently purchased a refurbished Lenovo laptop T450. The laptop had a clean install of windows 10 and office 2016. The unit worked great for a couple of weeks and still works great. However, now when I first bootup the laptop, it boots up perfectly but in order to proceed after startup I need to hit the control alt delete keys. I do not know what I could have done to cause this. The only thing I do know is it started after the laptop completed an automatic update.

Any suggestions as to why this happens. As I say the laptop is great and works perfectly after I hit the control alt delete keys; I just want to know what the cause is and if I can eliminate the need to do this every time I bootup the laptop.

    Thanks for the help

    :)

I'm not sure how to do that. Could you list the steps for a noob?

  3. Cannot launch Settings on startup menu

    Hi Luky,

Thank you for posting your reply.

I suggest you to perform a Startup Repair by following the steps below.

    • In the Lock screen, press/hold the shift key and click on power icon>restart.
    • Click on Troubleshoot>Advanced Options>Startup Repair and follow the prompts to start the Startup Repair.
After the Startup Repair is complete, check for the status.

    Regards

    STARTUP

Adding programs to startup with Windows 7?

You could add entries to the registry to launch the apps on startup, but it's easier to just add them to the startup foler as Newt suggested.
