Steam unable to go online AFTER March 2nd Windows Update

    Hi all,

Firstly, after the automatic Windows update on March 2nd and March 4th, both Steam and League of Legends suddenly lost the capabilities to go online.

I spent over 8 hours trying to solve this problem, including restarting all possible hardware, disabling / enabling all necessary services etc, tried starting up in "Safe Mode" but my Network was disabled, so was not able to test out connection to Steam / Garena. I've tried everything Google returned to me as well, nothing worked.

For Steam, it was just a clear error that it was unable to "connect online", upon checking the log file, it states this:

    [2016-03-04 20:49:45] Startup - updater built Jun 4 2015 10:36:34

    [2016-03-04 20:49:47] Shutdown

When I tried League of Legends, they gave an error of Unable to connect to Maestro.

I googled both issues and they both shared something common : a 3rd Party Software is blocking their connections.

I am using the default Windows Firewall and Windows Defender. I had allowed all "apps" of Steam and League of Legends via the Windows Firewall Settings on both Public and Private Domains, and had even added additional inbound / outbound rules for Windows Firewall Advanced Settings.

As for Windows Defender, I tried turning "Real Time Protection" off, but still was unable to get through.

It is clear that something is blocking these gaming programs from going online. I am still able to access the Internet normally using web browsers such as Chrome and Edge, and my torrent client, Deluge works perfectly as well, able to seed and leech with no issues.

I tried uninstalling the latest Windows Updates as well, but that did not help.

Can anyone advise on what I can do now ? There is just too much data in my Computer to Backup into another external hard drive, so I really wish to avoid doing a Clean Re-install as much as possible.

Thank you very much in advance.

    Warmest Regards,
    Zeke

    :)
