Windows 10: Stop McAfee notifications

My daughters ultrabook has Windows 10 on it. She does not have McAfee installed. Yet recently she started getting lots of notifications from McAfee, about 5 or 6 a minute. She temporarily solved the problem by just turning off notifications, but I am hoping to fix the problem so she can turn notifications back on so she doesn't miss emails etc. A search of her system shows no McAfee product installed. How can I find what is causing these notifications and uninstall it? Very frustrating!

Yeah, thats not a solution she is interested in......I've suggested that course of action. Thanks though.

Just to clarify, I feel that there MUST be a step, or series of steps to turn off JUST the wireless notification sound. Thats what Im driving @ here.

 

Stop McAfee Notifications on Windows 10

How do I stop the annoying McAfee update notifications on Windows 10,
short of uninstalling McAfee entirely?

The McAfee software subscription came with the laptop, as part of a deeply discounted add-on. However, since activating it (major headache as to even apply the key, I had to uninstall the pre-installed trial software with assistance from McAfee Technical
Support), I get notifications every couple of hours that a new update is available, which
may require rebooting. Even if I apply the first, shut everything down, and reboot, another annoying notification is along in a few hours!

So, now I try clicking "Remind me later" to schedule the lot for a few days hence (an option is 2 days later). But no, within a couple of hours, the annoying message is back I have no idea how many updates McAfee issues per day, but it is ridiculous to
think that someone is going to reboot their computer every couple hours. I've also tried clicking "Cancel," to no avail.

McAfee does not appear in the Windows 10 System Settings -
Application Notifications control window, leading me to believe this is very poorly architected software indeed. The only online help for these complaints, dating back to 2010, seems to be UNINSTALL MCAFEE.

Any other suggestions?
