  1. Stop Using SHA-1

The SHA-1 hashing algorithm has known weaknesses that expose it to collision attacks, which may allow an attacker to generate additional X.509 digital certificates with the same signature as an original.

    Stop Using SHA-1

Checking the SHA-1 values for multiple ISO's for different versions of Windows

    Hi,

Can someone let me know if there is a site where users are able to check the SHA-1 values of their Windows ISO downloads against an official MS list.

    Example: I have 3 versions of Windows 10 (Pro-Home) x32 English:

    Via MS Tech Bench
    Win 10 Pro-Home x32 (Build unknown) -
    3.1GB

    SHA-1: 1FA08DA60F335E8ED33E56FF64C8063C9033E094

    Via MS Tech Bench Win 10 Pro-Home x32 Build 10240 -
    2.8GB

    SHA-1: D927A91E1DD7D9C6023D0DA1DBCB16DEFEC5B6C1

    Via MS Tech Bench Win 10 Pro-Home x32 Build 10586 -
    2.8GB

    SHA-1: 5D406D89656F8548FD0F410BD66DE59BE05B081B

Now using a free tool like HashTab will allow users to generate the SHA-1 value for the ISO as a way to check to see that the ISO hasn't been tampered with, (all 3 downloads are from
Tech Bench servers so should be fine) but there is no publically available list for users to check. There may of course be a list for MS Subscribers to see, but that doesn't help 99% of people who may be downloading various versions of Windows and want to
double check the integrity of the ISO before installing it.

So if there is a list somewhere that anyone can see and check their ISO's with, can someone post it.

    Hope that makes sense?
