Windows 10: Stopping October Windows 10 update!

How do I STOP the October Windows 10 updates until Microsoft figures out what is causing all the deletes and crashes associated with this update? I'm stuck with Microsoft 10 but I have had one laptop bricked by that installation and I cannot afford to loose anything from this laptop.


I understand that the October updates are buggy as all hell. HOW can I delay these updates until Microsoft has something resembling a working patch?

That doesn't stop windows update from grabbing them on next run, at least it didn't back in the RTM days. It simply stops a secondary process from installing them immediately.

• Click "Properties"
• Click on "Hardware" tab
• Click "Device Installation Settings"
• Tick the "No, let me choose what to do"

It's basically what I mentioned above, small issues here and there ,but nothing to end your day.. for the most part.

I know it's anecdotal, but for my experience 95% of the time it's perfectly fine. The issues I've run into wouldn't be enough for me to roll back , but they would be enough (had I not installed it yet) ,to avoid it for another couple weeks which is why I'm suggesting it to the OP
