    A while back I got my computer infected with malware that bundled with dodgy software I got off the web. It's still there months after i'd deleted said software. I was planning to restart my PC to get rid of said malware but i dont have enough storage space to do it. I bet i know what you're thinking: just do disk cleanup and you'll be fine. Well here's the issue: i've been doing disk cleanup for hours and nothing seems to be working. No matter how many times i delete my temporary files they're still at 17.6 MB. I assume that might have something to do with the malware. What do i do?

    Funny...on actually reading the title on that unrecognized status disk, it is titled Microsoft Storage Space. I was ust surprised to see it listed in the drive list.

    Hi, a great program to give the best instant analysis of drives is Hard Disk Sentinel (trial), periodically given away.

    The textual description on the GUI is the best by far I've seen. Suggest you try it.

    I also suggest anyone using Storage Space should run a program that continuously monitors the health of the drives and reports incipient problems. Free programs such as Crystal Diskinfo, HD Tune are possibilities.

    Thanks for the tips. I appreciate it.

    Any idea if it might be possible to run a utility against the disk to repair it? Not sure if it being in a storage space would cause that to be non-feasible.

    Heading out to check out the programs you suggested.
