Windows 10: Strange icon after restarting the computer ...

Guys, I'm using version 2024 (19041.450) and I got this icon instead of the Start icon ...




If I click on it normally, nothing happens ... if I click with the right button, I just have this little menu ...




I believe there must be some connection with the new Windows 10 menus, but I'm not sure ...All I do is right click and exit ...Anyone else with this? Could you disable it? It seems to me without use or function ...

Strange USB-Drive Icons

Hi, I've not looked into this at all, but looking at that folder the one that appears to contain the strange icon is
f4e323bf-0f31-42b6-9ad6-5d5382d3fa83
- I don't have one called 797289b8-812a-4d9e-bda5-91567fd47bc6

Would I be correct in thinking that this ico file is the clue as to which to delete?




And thanks- having deleted the folder it did indeed prove necessary to use Driver Booster as described. Problem solved- for now...

 

Strange USB-Drive Icons

Hi guys!
I just registered only to post my solving of this problem (I know it's been a while since the last reply...).
These are the steps I took to fix this problem on my PC:

• Removed all the Removable Devices from my PC;
• Deleted the folder "797289b8-812a-4d9e-bda5-91567fd47bc6" from "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\DeviceMetadataCache\dmrccache\en-us";
• Rebuilt the Icon Database of Windows using:
  1. taskkill /F /IM explorer.exe
  2. cd /d %userprofile%\AppData\Local
  3. attrib –h IconCache.db
  4. del IconCache.db
  5. start explorer.exe
• Used the "Clean Unplugged Device Data" option from the Tools menu on Driver Booster;
• Restarted my PC.

After this, all icon and info in my PC were corrected!

Strange Shadow type Icon/Image Windows 10

Hi VidhuGour,

In order to help you with your concern about the strange shadow, icon or image on your Windows 10 screen, you may check and access the icon using the File Explorer of your Windows 10 PC. Follow these steps:

• Click the File Manager icon from the taskbar.
• Click This PC.
• Click the Desktop folder.
• It should show you that strange desktop icon and its corresponding File name.
  

If it doesn't show, you may try changing your wallpaper into a darker type and see if the strange figure would still be there. If it is, then it might be a dead pixel that you currently have on your screen.
