Windows 10: Strange IPv4 subnet mask for network connection

My default gateway is 192.168.1.1 (FIOS). I am running some Windows 2012R2 servers under Hyper-V. When I set up the servers, I *believe* the Hyper-V Manager also added a network configuration for the VMs. The VM IP addresses are 172.18.x.x and the subnet mask is 255.255.0.0.

BUT the subnet mask on the Host (WIndows 10 Pro) for this network connection is 255.255.255.240.

My question is: why?

N95 WLAN "No Gateway Reply" : Solution for Ad hoc home Network

Hi,

Its still not working for me,, M getting "No gateway reply" error msg..

M using Windows 7, i hav shared ma LAN connection and have made the Ad-hoc connection with following setting..



LAN connection



IPv4 Address: 147.143.240.233

IPv4 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

IPv4 Default Gateway: 147.143.240.1

IPv4 DHCP Server: 147.143.244.2

IPv4 DNS Servers: 147.143.162.101,

147.143.161.101



Wireless connection

IPv4 Address: 147.143.1.1

IPv4 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

IPv4 Default Gateway: 147.143.1.1

IPv4 DNS Servers: 147.143.162.101,

147.143.161.101



Access point setting



IPv4 Address: 147.143.1.6

IPv4 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

IPv4 Default Gateway: 147.143.1.1

IPv4 DNS Servers: 147.143.162.101,

147.143.161.101



Pls tell me where m i going wrong, why is it still showing "No gateway reply"

Pls suggest me new IP settings if m wrong anywhere...

No gateway reply EVEN WHEN successfully connected to a WLAN access point

After change the wireless ip to 192.168.0.1, it still the same.
