    Strange keyboard behavior


    Running windows 10 64bit latest update 1909 Build 18363.778

    Keyboard Microsoft Ergonomic Wireless Keyboard with the MS Mouse and Keyboard Tools Software installed.


    Physical Keyboard layout = German QWERTZ with german Umlauts


    OS language is set to English, I had the english keyboard layout installed as secondary layout.


    Since last week my keyboard layout changed from DEU to ENG while typing.

    After a few days I found out that this happened always when I was typing German O Umlaut.

    When I switched back to German I could type other Umlauts a , u without problem, but NOT "o".


    Today I checked my settings, removed ENGlish keyboard layout and now I just can't type o Umlaut, nothing happens...


    I re-added ENGlish US language settings and set german DEU as default. But as soon as I type an o-Umlaut the keyboard layout switches to ENGlish....


    Very annoying.


    Can somebody tell me how to correct this?

    Logitech Wave Keyboard driver not working ??!!??!!

    Any suggestions to get the numeric keypad to work? This seems like very strange behavior. The keyboard works perfectly in XP to Win8.1.

    Hey, thanks for the suggestion! I went into my BIOS and neither "MSI Fast Boot" or "Fast Boot" were enabled. I took a few pictures of the BIOS config and of the power-related options, and attached them below.

    Windows 10 Laptop Keyboard Keys Acting Strange

    Hi,

    I realize that you are facing issues with the keyboard on your PC. I will try to help you with this issue.

    Suggest you to plug in an external keyboard to the laptop to check if that helps.

    Further you may also use the onscreen keyboard to check if that helps.

    Follow these steps to launch the On-screen keyboard:


    • Press Windows key + R to get the run window.

    • Type “osk” and hit enter to launch the On-screen keyboard and check if this helps.
