Windows 10: Strange Problem with storage

I have an Acer Nitro 5 laptop that I have had for roughly 2 years, lately its been acting up when it comes to storage.


About two days ago when trying to export a 20-minute video from HitFilm Express, I got the notification that my storage was full. So naturally, I cleaned up my computer so that I could try again. After cleaning out about 30 GB worth of storage the computer registered this, I tried to export again. My storage suddenly dropped to 98.2 KB, so I went through and did a second cleaning. I ended up with 44 GB of free space, but the same issue occurred after I tried to export again.


I'm on my third cleaning today and my computer said it had 10.4 GB of storage remaining, so I decided to test if the exporting would change that, sure enough, not even two minutes into the export it dropped to 4 GB. It makes absolutely no sense that this would happen when exporting, the file size when it comes to the video, only requires 100 KB of storage. Even as I type this the storage has dropped to 2 GBs.


I've deleted games, videos, pictures, files, documents, cleaned out the bins, cleaned the cloud system, removed and uninstalled apps that I no longer use, or have never used and I'm still having problems.


Has anyone else had this issue? If so is there any way to fix this? Anything that can help would be greatly appreciated.

Strange boot problem

I am trying to get my head round the 6 steps above before having a go. If you can expand on them it may give me a bit more confidence. I cant lose the whole contents of my PC.
Have attached details as you suggested.

 

Windows 10 1709 System Restore problems...

That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

I suggest Option 1 is easier.

Storage Problem

It's possible that the 346GB of space that you're seeing under the Apps & games window refers to the available space of the selected drive and not the actual usage. To confirm this information, we suggest that you check the total
usage through the Storage usage screen instead. To do this, follow the steps below:

• Click the Start menu or Windows icon.
• Select the gear icon or Settings.
• Select System > Storage.
• Under Choose a drive to see what's taking up space, select
  This PC (Drive letter)
• Under Apps & games, check if the space usage exceeds the estimate 140GB of space.
