  1. Strange Taskbar Behavior?

TL;DR - closing app that continues to run background, makes its pinned icon in taskbar inactive.

So I returned to Windows PC after using Mac for a year or two - and I am not sure but I think pinned apps on taskbar do not behave as they used to and I am wondering if there is something wrong with my install.

Basically - when I close (with X button) pinned apps that should run in background like, Slack, Skype, Spotify, etc - they continue to run, but they are not highlighted in the taskbar any more. To be clear - they work in the background - but what I noticed, when I click on Skype icon in notification area, it appears instantly, but when I click Skype icon on the taskbar (when it's closed and is running in background) it takes second or to - as if it tries to run new instance but realizes that the instance is already running. This concerns all of the app that continue to run in background after close.

Well, as far as I remember, and I've been Windows 10 User since day one - this was not the case, and closing the apps which were continuing in background - left icons in taskbar highlighted (and they flashed for new notification, but this time, it's not the case).

So my question is - is this new behavior introduced in 20H1/20H2 or is there something wrong with my install, or am I just going crazy?

I've been googling all day, but no avail.

Hope this is correct subreddit to post such a question..

    Thanks in advance!

  3. Strange behavior from taskbar-cursor interaction?

Ive heard some stories of where Windows 10 for some reason seems to get confused as to whether a device is a desktop or a laptop/tablet. Im going to suggest trying this:

Go into your settings, instead of going to where the taskbar settings are, open settings and go under system. Select Tablet mode.

See that your settings look like this. "When I sign in" is set to desktop mode, "When this devices switches..." is set to dont ask and dont switch. This is what I would try. See if that works for you.
