Windows 10: Stuck in Safe Mode Login Screen and have forgot my local password

Not sure if this is the right forum - there doesn't seem to be a "Login Issues" forum so I'm trying security.


I was trying to reset my wife's iPad - long story, but I needed to enter Safe mode to try to delete a few stubborn folders. Well, my laptop rebooted into Safe mode and lo and behold, it requires a password to login. I use a pin and have for years and have no idea what my password is. I have tried to hold down Shift and power and turn on safe mode with networking but - it also requires a password. Everything appears to require a password, including trying to get to the command prompt. Any thoughts/ideas would be greatly appreciated as this is my main computer and I need it back desperately.

You need to boot into Safe Mode. Do this by mashing F8 when the computer is starting, right before Windows loads, until you see a bunch of options. Select "Safe Mode". It'll boot into Safe Mode, and bring you to the login screen. At the login screen, go in as "Administrator", and from there go to the control panel. In the control panel, open "users", select the account you forgot the password of, and click "remove password". Restart the computer and all will be well *Smile .

 

Stuck on Safe mode, no password.


Today i launched DDU (Display driver uninstaller),
And it brought my pc to "Safe-Mode" login screen.

And when i typed my password , it said its incorrect.
( when i enter the local password on a system startup repair or something like that it works, but only at the win 10 safe-mode password bar its not working. Very strange.)

How could this be possible? When like 2 hours ago i used to login with this password...

Anyway..

Tryed alot stuff from other topics and NONE helped .. please help me please.

I have like 500 gb stored files. I hope i wont have to reset disk.

Stuck in safe mode , login password forgot

Hai, I use pin as login password, I open windows in safe mode . I forgot password , don't have any other account too. don't have windows disk . What can I do to resolve this . Thank you, Ziyad
