Stuck in the ultimate Automatic Repair loop

Today my Asus Laptop started lagging and not responding, and so I restarted it. Big mistake.

I got stuck in an Automatic Repair loop- I tried everything! Including:

    • Resetting the PC failed- “There was A problem resetting your PC. No changes were made.”

    • Start-up Repair “Start-up Repair couldn’t repair your PC”

    • UEFI Firmware Settings I didn’t see or know anything I could change to help my situation.

    • System Restore The only disk available for the restore was C:/, and “Windows detected file system corruption on OS C:”. I checked the disk for errors, and after scanning it told me to close the dialogue box and that it would fix it. It didn’t. And another time after it said that it found file system corruption, when I scanned the driver no errors were found, which of course, didn’t help me restoring my system as it say there were errors. **** Windows?

    • Uninstall Updates Tried uninstalling both quality updates and feature updates nothing’s changed.

    • Command Prompt DISM had errors 50 and 87, sfc /scannow got the message “Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation.”, and chkdsk c: /f got “ Windows has scanned the file system and found no problems. No further action is required.” and “Failed to transfer logged messages to the event log with status 50.”

    • And lastly- Start-up Settings. Up until now when Automatic Repair showed up, I booted the PC in Safe Mode, but now, whenever I go to the Start-up Settings menu, I press the only button “Restart”, and instead of letting me choose from the list in which way I’d like to boot my computer, it just restarts and the loop continues.

    • USB Drive I installed the latest version of Windows 10 available on Microsoft's site on a USB stick but that has gotten me nowhere.

Please, I beg you, help me.

    :)

    Automatic repair loop

Hi there, thanks for your question.

Here are the steps I generally recommend to fix automatic repair boot loops:

    Use Check Disk Utility

Fix Boot and Rebuild BCD via Command Prompt

    Restore Windows Registry

    Delete the Problematic File

    Disable Automatic Startup Repair

    Check Device Partition and OsdevicePartition

Perform Refresh or Reset Your PC

These steps are listed in detail with instructions in the below article:

If you're still experiencing issues after these steps, please let me know and I'll see what else we can try! Thanks!
