Windows 10: Stuck on autologon

Hi,I have configured a windows 10 machine with Kiosk mode and have used registry keys to have it auto logon. It works well, but the issue I have now is that I cannot get out of this kiosk mode anymore. Clicking CTRL-ALT-DEL, it looks like it simply re-autologon again and come back on the same kiosk app I have configured. So no way to logout and login back on my normal user.I found some website telling to hold the SHIFT key while windows was loading to bypass autologon but that doesn't seem to work. I tried holding both the right and left shift keys as well with no success.Any idea how to get o

How do autologon work?

Referring to following link, I would like to know on whether this tools help to login 2 different user accounts after restart or not.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

WIndows 10 Autologon

We configure our computers to use autologon with the Autologon tool to engrypt the passwords.

The auto log work normally on restart.

If the computer shuts down due to power issue the computer stops at log on prompt.

If you select restart from this screen the autologon works as expected.

We did not have this issue with Windows 7.

 

Windows 10 - AutoLogon fails occasionally

Day by day in our company we have problem with random cases when autologon stops working.

Below u can find my analysis, please if u had some similar cases or u know the cause of this issue please help me.

• Hostname: x (domain object)
  
• User: y (domain object)
  
• Domain: i
  

Description: Autologon stops working on example host a few time in a month, after that we need configure again autologon. We are using tool from microsoft (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/autologon).

I checked event viewer and system power report and I found some interesting topics that may be related with this issue.

1. Event Viewer: I found Netlogon errors with ID 5719.
   
   "This computer was not able to set up a secure session with a domain controller in domain i due to the following:
   
   We can't sign you in with this credential because your domain isn't available. Make sure your device is connected to your organization's network and try again. If you previously signed in on this device with another credential, you can sign in with that credential.
   
   This may lead to authentication problems. Make sure that this computer is connected to the network. If the problem persists, please contact your domain administrator.
   
   ADDITIONAL INFO
   
   If this computer is a domain controller for the specified domain, it sets up the secure session to the primary domain controller emulator in the specified domain. Otherwise, this computer sets up the secure session to any domain controller in the specified domain."
   

2. System Power Report shows Abnormal Shutdowns related which are associated with the date of the NETLOGON error.

But from my logical point of view of course those errors should cause account not logged in, but in our case autologon stops working totally and we must setup this again.
