Windows 10: Stuck on lockscreen - error: you must be online the first time to complete account set up

HELP! I’m stuck at the lockscreen with an error “You must be online the first time to complete account setup”


what happened:

- I was trying to add my computer/device on my microsoft account since i am accessing the microsoft store the first time. I tried to switch to local account and switch back to microsoft account on mu computer settings to trigger the device to be added on my account. After a force restart, that’s when I got stuck on the lockscreen.


what I’ve tried so far:

- checked network. Tested both wifi and wired connection. Same error.

- pw reset thru the lockscreen. Pw changed successfully but still won’t let me in the computer. Error is still showing

- unable to open advanced settings. My lockscreen, for some reason, does not have the shut down button. It only has the ease of access button and the network button at the bottom left.

- shift+f8 or ctrl+f8 at start up did not work

- did force shutdowns multiple times

can't sign into windows because of i must be online the first time to complete the account set up message

when i try to sign into a Microsoft it says i must be online the first time to complete the account set up and tried reconnecting it to the internet since it was already connected and yet it did nothing

 

Can't login to domain account "you must be online the first time..."

I've just installed windows 10 as a fresh install. I've configured the proxy settings for our organisation using a local account and the internet and local network seems to be working properly.

I have created a new user using my work email address and when I attempt to log in to it I get a long wait, followed by the error: You must be online the first time to complete your account setup. If I check the network connections from the login screen it appears to be connected, but it looks like it's timing out.

Do the proxy settings from a local account apply to all users? Is there a way to make sure they do?
