Windows 10: Stuck on welcome screen / Cannot restore system

When I boot into Windows and proceed to insert the password, I get stuck in an infinite loading. I cannot restore the system, I get an unspecified error with an empty log, it simply say "cannot restore the system". So I tried to System Refresh to keep my files Holding shift while restarting the computer and as soon as the computer boot into the restore screen, it asks me to login into my Microsoft account, but after I put in the password it tells me it's wrong even though it absolutely is the correct one Yes, I am sure. Safe boot also doesn't work, again getting me stuck on the welcome loading screen.

I cannot even access the command prompt, for that I had to boot into the Media Creation Tool on a usb drive, from there I did manage to run a chkdsk, and after 5 hours I discovered no problem was found... I also tried to run an sfc scan, but it gave me another unspecified error: "Windows resource protection: could not perform the requested operation".

I have to specify the HDD is pretty old, perhaps it's an hardware problem... I am very confused. The fact is that I am stuck out of my system, I wanted to know if this is resolvable, if not can anyone direct me to a good source for file recovery?

System restore got stuck

• What was the exact issue that you were facing that lead to perform restore?
• Did you receive any error message, when the system restore got stuck?
• Did you install any third party security application?

Since the computer is being stuck, I suggest you to restart the computer and try to perform the restore again and check if it helps.

I also suggest you to provide more information regarding the issue which led to perform system restore along with the make and model of the computer.

Locked System Restore - now stuck on black screen

I was attempting to fix another problem by rolling back to an earlier image by using system restore. After 24 hours I figured the machine was locked up, so I powered it off.

• I have been trying to power it back up using the Function F8 (Lenovo Ideapad 320 laptop). I see the Lenovo splash screen with a circular pattern of white dots. The computer finally goes to a black screen.
• I have attempted to connect the computer via HDMI cable to my TV per some other suggestions.

Any other suggestions?

 

Stuck on Black Screen While in System Restore

Screen went black about 30 seconds into system restore. This was over two hours ago. Should I reboot even though it says not to turn computer off once the process begins? Any suggestions are appreciated.
