Windows 10: Stuttering problem with Movies & TV app

My Dell computer came with the Movies & TV app as the default video player. In the 2 years I've had the PC I've had no problems with it and I really like it as a player. But starting about 2 months ago or so certain videos played with the app have a very bad stuttering problem. These are downloaded videos being played from an external hard drive. But the problem is that it's not all of the videos have this stuttering problem in fact there really is no pattern to it. Some of the videos are older and some are only 3 or 4 months old.

I can switch players to the Power CD & DVD player and they work just fine but I'm not really a fan of that as a video player. They also work on VLC but again I don't like that as much as I like the Movies & TV player. With it not affecting all videos played on the player I don't see how it can be a program error and because they play fine on the other two players I don't see it as a problem with the particular videos. I'm kind of confused.

Movies & TV app not working properly.

I suggest you to un-install and re-install Movies & TV App and check. Follow the steps:

• Press Windows Key.
• Type Windows Powershell.
• Right click on it and select Run as administrator.
• Type in the following command to un-install Movies & TV App.

get-appxpackage *Microsoft.ZuneVideo* | remove-appxpackage

Note: The Movies & TV App can be reinstalled using the Store App or by following the link mentioned below. You will need to exit the Store app if it is already open before reinstalling the app.

Movies and TV app Problem

These 2 steps resolved my disappearing Movies & TV tile problem. Before using this fix, tapping on the Movies & TV app tile would cause it to vanish without loading the program. Thanks for your help.
