  1. sucessfully been using windows 10 pro for a month

good morning, so far I have been using windows 10 pro without any issues for a month now... just looked at the recovery options and noticed the option to go back to windows 7 is gone.... which was expected. now hopefully this laptop will continue to behave properly with windows 10 pro otherwise I will have to locate a windows 7 disk... hoping that will not need to happen because so far windows 10 is the best version of windows I have ever used.

    :)

Good to hear that you're having success with 10. The only way you could have had an option to go back to 7 would have been if you made an image copy of your system before you performed the upgrade. But since you didn't .. well you would have to get a copy of 7 and you might be able to use the key you had when you were running 7. Just a thought..

But I really like 10 as well. Is it the best?? Hard to say since 7 was a really good OS as well.
    Have a good day

  5. windows 7 was ok... hated internet explorer, had to use firefox since I cannot stand chrome. a friend of mine has a windows 7 pro disk I can use and the laptop has a windows 7 pro sticker under the battery so if I needed to go back I could.... just think it would be a royal pain unlike with my apple desktop that has lifetime software support from apple

I liked 7 because it wasn't Vista. *Wink But the real issues with Vista was software/driver support and when that got cleared up it wasn't a bad OS. And I know what you mean about going back to a previous OS.. not my idea of a fun way to spend a day or two.

And I think Win10 will just keep getting better over time.. I just want to see the new insider build and see if there are any changes visa via Edge.

  7. vista was what made me jump ship to apple. apple products just work and do not usually act stupid. bought a new laptop when vista came out... yes it was a lower end system since I use it for storm chasing... I chase tornados so didn't want to spend too much for it in case I would have to bail and the computer and truck got destroyed..... within 3 days I gave the vista unit to a friend of mine and bought a used MacBook and delt with the lack of radar programs on apple. now I need to be able to run the pro quality radar programs that only run on windows so got an hp laptop used on craigslist... ran windows 7 pro but ran fairly slowly. went to the casino and actually won a decent prize so again went on craigslist and found this dell latitude e6410 with the 2.67 ghz i5 and 4 gb of ram. the night I got it I upgraded it to windows 10 and haven't had a problem yet.... thinking it is about as stable as my apple desktop

Worth making an image backup of your working version of 10 now in case it gets broken later, and you can then backtrack.

I wish it was that simple for me, I put Windows 7 Ultimate 64 back on my main gaming machine. I couldn't stand 10 for the errors and problems.

As for my 2nd PC I am slowly creeping back into Windows 7 with some of the errors I am getting of late. Gets a bit repetative. But it is good for some features, I just feel as if its slow compared to Windows 7

    Just a question :
Is the windows.old gone after a month or did you delete it yourself ?

I leave mine on my C drive and I am waiting to see if it actually disappear automatically after 30 days. I have about 5 more days to go.
    That's why I ask you.
