Windows 10: Sudden Backup Failure -- Error Message 0x807800C5

Hello,


I'm trying to find out how to help my sister -- very recently when she tried to backup her computer (to portable drive 1) and backup her files (to portable drive 2) she got an error message -- 0x807800C5.


I looked at the information on the Microsoft site about this error code but it is all rather old and much of it is very technical. As I mentioned, this just started occurring recently -- her backups are all scheduled but she wanted to be sure she had backups before updating to the new Windows 10 Update Procedures. When she tried to perform the manual updates she got the error messages.


This appears to be a recurring issue -- is there a solution available that someone can use without going into safe mode or editing the DOS?

Error 0x807800C5 Backup failure on Windows 10

Hi, I'm using Win10 Home and wanna save backup on an external hard drive. It only worked the first time, then no backup could be completed due to the following error:
0x807800C5

PLEASE NOTE: I'm a simple user, i've read other posts regarding this issue and really didn't understand the suggested solutions / how to do them. Could u plz be so kind and suggest a solution for a no IT guy. Thank u.

MY ERROR MSG READS:

"There was a failure in preparing the backup image of one of the volumes in the backup set. Details: The mounted backup volume is inaccessible. Please retry the operation"

I suggest you to refer to the below thread replied by Ashish Sondhi
on June 20, 2015 and check if your issue matches with the same.

If so, try the troubleshooting steps mentioned and check if your issue is resolved.
