Sudden drop of download speed specific to windows 10 device.

normally when i test the network speed on my laptop it comes up around 30-40 mbps download

when i test it on my playstation it says about 50-60

my phone says its 72 mbps

well a couple days ago i was updating some steam games and noticed it was taking really long

it topped out at less than 1 mbps download and said a 7 gb game would take like a week to download when usually i can do it in less than an hour.

so i ran a network test and it came up like 3 mbps and i tried it again and it came up like 4.

over the past few days i have been trying to resolve this issue myself and everytime i test it i get a 3 or a 4 or at most like 10.

but its fine on my phone, playstation, smart tv, my dads tablet, my dads tv.

i made sure everythings updated in windows and my network adapters.

    :)

Windows 10 booting speed dropped all of the sudden

    Hi Karthick,

    Welcome to Windows 10 family!

Have you updated all the device drivers on the computer?

    Method 1:

I would suggest you to check and install all the updates. I would also suggest you to run the System maintenance troubleshooter by following these steps.

    • Press Windows key + X on the keyboard.
    • Click on Control panel.
    • Type “Troubleshooting” without quotes in the Control panel
      search box.
    • Click on Troubleshooting and click on View all.
    • Click on System Maintenance troubleshooter and follow the on-screen instructions.

    Method 2:

    Step 1:

Start your computer in safe mode and check if the issue persists:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows-10/changing-the-start-up-settings-in-windows-10#v1h=tab01

    Step 2:

If it works fine in safe mode, perform clean boot to check if any third party application is causing the issue, as clean boot helps in eliminating software conflicts.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929135

Note: After troubleshooting, see the section “How to reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting with clean boot” to return the computer to a
    Normal startup mode.

    Let us know the results.
