Windows 10: Sudden Restart

Hello,
When I started my computer up for the first time today, I immediately launched my browser Mozilla Firefox as I do every day. Shortly after the browser window opened, my screen went black and my computer automatically restarted. This has never happened to me before, but just yesterday my sister who also has Windows 10 and uses the same browser had the exact same thing happen to her.

I have tried to read up as much as I can on this issue, and it appears a Windows update may be to blame, but I can not seem to get a clear answer. I am not asking for instructions on how to troubleshoot the problem myself—I have had bad experiences trying to troubleshoot system errors in the past—I would simply like to know if this is a known issue with Windows 10, and if I should be worried about it. For reference, the most recent Windows update installed on my computer is version 1909 and it was installed back in November.

Sudden Restart on Windows 10

Hi, Could any of you suggest me a solution to the issue of the sudden restart I've been suffering from for a while as my pc always restarts and gives me a blue error which says "your pc ran into a problem
and needs to restart. It happens quite often more than 5 times a day and I've tried all the suggestions on YouTube, unfortunately none of them works. I need your urgent reply please. * My pc runs on Windows 10 Home premium 64 bit and it's a registered copy.

Thanks for your patient help and analysis, zbook. I'll step through some of your suggestions over the next few days - there's a lot to do and some look a bit hairy! That is, for a PC that is working sweetly right now...

One step I did try right away was to answer your question about whether my BIOS is up-to-date. I had no success at the AMI site but did get some info from this commercial site:
