Windows 10: Suddenly my Windows Mail account no longer sends or receives - PC running Windows 10

On my Windows 10 PC, my Windows Mail account has always been set up with a Hotmail email address. In 8 months, I've never had a problem sending mail from or receiving mail with this account. As of June 10, I can no longer send or receive mail using my PC's Mail account. For example, if I try to send, my Outbox shows "Still working on it...", but it never actually succeeds. I can still access that hotmail account online, of course, through a browser, but that's not what I want to do.I have made sure my PC is updated and have powered down and restarted. Windows Live Mail will no longer send or receive emails

Since the last automatic update of my Windows 10, my Windows Live Mail no longer works. I get this error message:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Comcast account. An unknown error has occurred.

Server: 'mail.comcast.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800C013E
Protocol: POP3
Port: 995
Secure(SSL): Yes

I am running Windows Version 2004 (OS Build 19401.450).

I am Michael, a Microsoft Community member and a fellow Windows 10 user like you. I hope I can help you on your concern.

It's possible the Windows Live Mail got corrupted after the update, please perform the following below in the registry:
1. click Windows Key + R (to open run)
2. in the run type and enter: REGEDIT
3. Go to Computer > HKEY_CURRENT_USER > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows Live Mail
4. Create these 3 DWORD entries (if they didnt exist) or change to 1 if they exist

RecreateFolderIndex = 1
RecreateStreamIndex = 1
RecreateUIDLIndex = 1

5. Restart Windows Live Mail.

I have been using mail, window 10 and it know longer send mail.
