    Surface Book 2, Cannot turn on Camera with Windows Hello


    I have a Surface Book 2. When I wake it from sleep to the Windows Hello screen it frequently errors, saying it couldn't turn on the camera. I can then click on "sign in options" and select facial recognition from there, which works. All my drivers are up to date. I have it connected to the Surface Dock, with 2 external monitors.


    Anyone else have this issue ?

    SURFACE BOOK 2 - IR FRONT CAMERA AND REAR CAMERA ISSUE

    Click Start > Settings > Privacy > Camera

    Toggle on Allow apps to access your Camera

    Can you try the steps suggested in this thread for further throubleshooting?

    hello facial recognition in surface book 2 studio mode

    I often run my surface book 2 in studio mode hence the camera is towards the bottom instead of the top of the (landscape) screen. hello facial recognition appears not to be able to recognise the face until I turn the unit around (180 degrees) to have the
    camera at the top.

    anyone encountered this before and is there a solution for this?
