Windows 10: Surface laptop won't work with Marshall speaker

Hello,

I've recently purchased a surface pro laptop 3 and find that although it does connect via Bluetooth to my speaker it says that I can't use it due to my speaker being at 0% battery. My speaker is always plugged in so I don't see why that would matter, I can connect my phone perfectly fine to the speaker so I don't believe there's any issue with the speaker itself and now I'm wondering why I can't connect the laptop. Other than that the computer is fine please help me resolve this, thank you.

Hi Greg. Thank you for responding, as far as I know there's no charging port or other way for this speaker to power, it's a Marshall Stanmore 2. I'm not very tech-savvy so please do excuse if I have overlooked anything.

How strange. It confirms here on Amazon it uses only AC power:

I would contact Surface Support which is included with the PC for the first year to see why it's doing this.
