Windows 10: Surface Pro 4 Type Cover not working after Anniversary Update

Surface Pro 4 Type Cover not working after Windows 10 Anniversary Update.

I have noticed in Device Manger that under Human Interface Devices that Wacom Device has a yellow triangle.

If I look at Wacom Device Properties I see Device status --- This device cannot start (Code10) STATUS_DIVICE_DATA_ERROR.

I have install latest driver with no luck.

Any ideas how to solve problem?

Surface Pro 4- Annivsary update not being pushed after reset.

I just reset my Surface Pro 4 (a replacement unit from Microsoft). Windows update did install a bunch of updates, but it is now saying 'windows is up to date'. But the anniversary update is not installed. How do I force that update and does anyone know why
it wouldn't be showing up automatically.

Anniversary update didn't apply when I received the replacement unit from Microsoft and set it up for the first time a couple of days ago, and after reset (which seemed to take a LONG time compared to past surface resets on the 2nd day - to fix type cover
issue) it still is not installing the anniversary update.

 

Why the scrolling of Microsoft Wedge Mouse on Windows 10 is so crappy?

I bought a Surface Pro 4 and a Microsoft Wedge Mouse for Surface Edition. I thought the Microsoft's own device could work perfectly with Windows 10 & Surface Pro 4. I was wrong.

First, Windows 10 don't have a built-in driver for Microsoft's mouse. I need to search it online, download, install a program to drive the mouse correctly. The program itself looks outdated, nothing modern design, the starting image is very small because
of the Surface Pro's high DPI.

After all these, the scroll on the mouse 'works', but with very bad experience. The scrolling is not smooth, not bouncing. A totally different experience than trackpad of Surface Type Cover.

According to the nice experience of Type Cover's trackpad, I think it's doable, only a matter of the driver.

So can Microsoft please update the driver for Wedge Mouse, your own device?

 

I ran into that too with Win 10 Anniversary update. It totally disabled my Type Cover. According to Microsoft and some folks on the web, the force reboot works.

I took the dive and did a hard reboot of my Surface Pro 4 (Microsoft warns that do this only with Surface Pro 4) This is verbatim from Microsoft:

Use this two-button shutdown process to make sure your Surface is turned off completely.
Step 1: Press and hold the power button on your Surface for 30 seconds and then release it. Step 2: Press and hold the volume-up button and the power button at the same time for at least 15 seconds, and then release both.
The screen may flash the Surface logo, but continue holding the buttons down for at least 15 seconds. (this is the scary part. Note that I saw the BIOS screen came on within 3 - 4 seconds... but you need to continue to hold like Microsoft said. The screen went off for me then on again with the BIOS screen then off.. that's when I released the buttons) Step 3: After you release the buttons, wait 10 seconds. Press and release the power button to turn your Surface back on.


And that did it for me. You would think Microsoft would test their Win 10 Anniversary update on their own Surface Pro devices... oh well.

Holy hell this worked for me! Can't say how may different "fixes" I tried for this and was just short of sending my Surface Pro 4 off for repair but this worked. No Surface Type Covers (With or without fingerprint scanner) worked but now all Touch Covers are working again.

I wasn't quite ready to give up the Pro 4, so now I get to keep it a little while longer.

Installation of Creators Update solved problem for me.

 

I guess the Creators Update broke it for me, doing the steps in the original post I replied to fixed it for me.
