  1. Suspicious Email

I just got an email from Windows Defender Store with the email address: *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, I believe this is spam since its a gmail.com email and not microsoft.com and I didn't purchase nor did my credit card on file get dinged for Windows Defender Store for Windows Defender Advanced Threat protection Firewall & Network Protection, nor do I need it because I don't have a windows based computer. It says on the "Invoice" that it was for $399.00 and that this was the billed amount but it does not state where it was billed to it then goes on to spell out the dollar amount in words and gives a customer care number of 850 332-9222 Toll Free, is this their legit toll-Free number? It then says that I may contact Microsoft for a full refund within 48 hrs. of a monthly Subscription upgrde or within 72 hrs. after yearly payment. Partial refunds are available where required by law. Dates are displayed per Coordinated Universal Time, what does this mean, there is no such time zone? Also, says Order date may vary based on your location. Then it says Thanks Microsoft Account Team. The Description, Quantity, Unit Price & Total are highlighted in Red. The Discription and price is highlighted in light yellow and so is the subtotal and sales tax and the Billed Amount is highlighted in Red. At the bottom of the email is highlighted in Red and gives the following information for Corporate information. It also types in the end of my email address incorrectly but it still made it to my email, which is strange to me. Is this the following correct/legit?

: Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052 USA

  2. suspicious email

Unfortunately no I still can't see it

In any case. Microsoft would only contact you via email if there was a problem with your account such as a payment overdue on a subscription service, or suspicious log-in activity on your account.

reference the two possible domains that an email from Microsoft could come from in my first reply to see if the email is genuinely from Microsoft

if you have already changed your account password you have taken steps to secure your account also note that while you did not mention any phone calls Microsoft will never call you on the telephone unless you have requested a phone call

  3. recieved a suspicious email

could someone please inform me if this email is legit.

the email I received this morning claimed it was from Microsoft and that they had detected suspicious log in

the email said "We detected something unusual about a recent sign-in for the Microsoft account
*** Email address is removed for privacy ***. For example, you might be signing in from a new location, device, or app."

To help keep you safe, we've blocked access to your inbox, contacts list, and calendar for that sign-in. Please review your recent activity and we'll help you secure your account. To regain access, you'll need to confirm that the recent activity was
    yours.

is this legit or some sort of hoax email tring to get my personal details ?

    Suspicious Email

Suspicious "Welcome to Windows 10" email?

    Hello,

I came to his page after receiving the same suspicious email.

I had written a reply asking you to confirm whether the suspicious email originated with Microsoft.

I just received another, correct email, admitting that an error at Microsoft led to the suspicious email.

    Thank you
