Windows 10: Switch which MS account that a local account is associated with

My computer which I upgraded from Windows 7 and have upgraded piecemeal since has always used a local account. this account has all my software and registry settings for the hundreds of apps that I have for my work and hobbies. My daughter went to the MS store to download some software and now the local account appears to be permanently associated with her MS account and is now subject to her screen time limits.


I do not see the option to revert it to a local account. If any MS account is to be associated to this local account, it should be mine. but I can't find a way to switch it.


SETTING UP A NEW PROFILE IS ALSO A NON-ANSWER. I believe I mentioned the hundreds of apps and custom registry entries?


There are only 2 acceptable answers:

1 some manner to switch the account to associate with MY MS account. I'm fine with editing the registry

2 Some way to recover the option to revert the account to a LOCAL account unassociated with ANY MS account. preferred option.

Local account installation question

I'm fairly certain that Skip this step was available in 10.0.130 - the workaround in Step 20 (back button) is no longer required.

The currently known, as of 10.0.130, ways to create a Local account sign-in are

• Skip this step at the MS account creation phase
• No Internet connection during the install
• static IP (post# 2 by Fragment) - New (to me anyway)

That's ok. When you get to step 7 above, you would just leave it blank.

When you successfully switch to a Microsoft account, it will use the password of your Microsoft account.

 

Creating a MS account without losing Local account

Go to https://account.microsoft.com, click Create account and fill the form:





With a Microsoft account you can then use OneDrive and Office Online apps for free. You can also use built-in native Windows apps which require a Microsoft account like Mail, Skype Preview, People, Calendar and download apps from Windows Store.
