Windows 10: Synaptics SMB Bus touchpad issues on Win 10

Lately, the operation of the touchpad has been erratic and unreliable. However, after I connect a mouse the touchpad starts to behave appropriately again.


I have the latest driver. Windows is up-to-date.


Does anybody know the cause and the solution?

Synaptics TouchPad V1.3 on SMB Port

I have to keep disabling Synaptics TouchPad V1.3 on SMB Port. I have already gone to the regedit key and changed it to zero, still have to keep disabling. There needs to be an upgrade or something or someone who knows how to fix this problem. I do
not want the touchpad to work, I do not use it as it moves me all over the screen.

This issue may occur due to the outdated Synaptics Touchpad drivers. Try the below steps and check if it helps.

I would suggest you to download and install the latest Synaptics Touchpad drivers from the manufacturer’s website and uninstall the Synaptics touchpad drivers and re-install the same again.

Note: Make sure you download and save the TouchPad driver and installed it before uninstalling the same.

To uninstall Synaptic touchpad drivers, follow these steps:

• 
  Press Windows key + X and click on
  Device Manager.
  
• 
  Locate Mice and other pointing devices and expand the same.
  
• 
  Right-click the Synaptic driver and select
  Uninstall. (Note: keep the latest installed Synaptic driver)
  
• 
  Restart the computer, if prompted.
