Windows 10: Synaptics TouchPad Driver - Failed to Install

Hi brummyfan.

HID mouse driver is the USB mouse that I am using, however I have tried your suggestion also and no luck there either. It would however be interesting to see if I could get Windows 8 installed and see if it actually is an OS driver problem or the hardware...

Can you switch to basic mode in BIOS? If you can, switch to Basic mode(Touchpad) from Advanced and try installing the Synaptics driver.

Thanks, I did have a brief look in the BIOS before and couldn't see an option for the touchpad but I will have another look as I might have missed it...*Wink

Edit: Yeah, no option for touchpad in the Bios v 1.8

 

Its working!!! Finally... lol

My last attempt (which worked) involved unscrewing the laptop itself and navigating to the main connectors for the touchpad. I took the connectors out then placed them back in again, re-screwed everything back together, re-installed the driver and hey-presto!

Looks like it was just a loose connection after all...*really

So everything seems to be working now, even the led light on the touchpad itself. *Biggrin
