Windows 10: Sync Win10 calendar with Google calendar

Years back the following was posted here as the solution and as usual, some admin turned off the post so you can't ask questions:

To add your account, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, type Calendar, then press Enter.
2. At the bottom of the left navigation pane, click Settings.
3. Click Manage Accounts, Add Account, then choose the type of the account you want to add.
4. Enter the required information, click Sign in, then click Done.

I don't know if something changed, but it doesn't work for the following reasons:

1. There is no APP for Calendar on the start menu.

2. The only way to access the Calendar is on the taskbar.

3. There is no setting icon on the calendar that pops up.


How is it done now?

IT might be helpful if you describe the steps you're taking to try and sync the calendars. I'm not sure where eMail might come into the picture.

Also describe your goal as clearly as possible. you're trying to sync a calendar on the iPhone with the Calendar App on Win10, not a calendar in an eMail client?

ical seems to be the canonical calendar format for apple - not sure - just a guess.

 

How to disable certain Google Calendars from syncing with the stock Win10 Calendar app?

Windows 10 keeps notifying me of birthdays and dozens of other useless events because it's synced all my Google Calendars. How can I disable some of those calendars from syncing with Win10?

From the description provide, I understand that you are unable to sync Outlook calendar and Google calendar.

I would suggest you to use Outlook.com as the first step and then try to import the Google calendar ics file.

Please follow below.

Export Google Calendar

• Logon to your Google Account.
• Click the gear button.
• Follow the path Settings> Calendars> Export calendars.
• It downloads as a zip, hence you have to extract the .ics file.

Import Google calendar to Outlook.

• Login to Outlook.com.
• Click on Import in the context menu.
• Select the Google Calendar .ics file to import it.

All your Outlook events and appointments are now either in Google Calendar, whichever one you chose to import to .
