Windows 10: syncing itunes

For some reason; itunes keeps giving me the message "itunes can not sync your phone because you do not have enough access privileges" or something to that extent. And the odd thing is for some reason it just started happening today. The syncing had been working fine up until today. Whats up with this? ideas?

iTunes is an Apple product and actively blocks other devices directly syncing with iTunes. The last smartphone manufacturer who tried to sync with iTunes was Palm and Apple responded with releasing updates to iTunes that blocked syncing to Palm's devices.

Now, on Macs, Microsoft does have the WP7 Connector for Mac that syncs with iTunes for Mac, however it does so by using iTunes library data simply to find out where the file is and syncs it itself. It doesn't interface with iTunes directly (by that, I mean
as a device showing up in iTunes)

iTunes is for iPods, iPads and iPhones.

Afther installation, you can configure and sync any playlist from itunes to your phone. Sync is only for music and podcast, but is enought for me.



One thing, iTunes must be open before iTunes Sync is open and iTunes Sync must be close before exit iTunes itself. Another thing, The phone must be connected as mass storage to your PC.



This is the best solution for syncing my podcast with my e55 with no Nokia podcast application.

To make changes to Sharing in the Get Info window for iTunes please unlock it first.
There is small lock at bottom right of that window, you will need password to open it.

 

Exactly what are you referring to by this? and what password?

 

Well I cant seem to find the answer to this one myself; so can anyone else out here help me out with this one?

 

One thing I discovered about Windows 8.1 long ago was to shut off the "Smartscreen Filter" as soon as possible. In Windows 10 it is easier to shut it off, in the "Settings" tile, after you do that, run iTunes and see if it is more friendly to you and your device. If not, remove it with Revo Uninstaller, then reinstall the same version- Use Revo's "Advanced" method, and delete everything. Then reboot, and re-install iTunes with Smartscreen Filter off and it should run properly.

I had some maybe related trouble today, I had installed iTunes 11.2.2.3, which is what I was using in Windows 7 for my 5s. I backed up my device this afternoon, and I had no error messages or anything, and all of my Apps and settings got backed up. I double checked, all of my Apps got transferred, over 200 of them.

So after I restored my device, I had a fresh install of 8.4, I didn't know that 8.4.1 had been released, and I always download the IPSW file I'm expecting to use into my machine, I had no problems restoring or setting the device up semi-"As New", the iTunes screen prompts you to either "Set up as new" or "Restore Backup", usually when I choose "Restore Backup" it restores my settings, then it restores whatever huge amount of Apps I have installed.

Well, iTunes restored my Settings and iCloud stuff, but the Sync that I was expecting, ever started. I ran it twice, no dice. I finally had to boot to my Windows 7 partition and use a backup I made 2 weeks ago. So my warning here is, Don't use Windows 10 to do a restore. You can use other device related tools like iFunbox Classic or iMazing, if you are Jailbroken and you want to move files around on your device, but iTunes on Windows 10, well, iTunes is basically a set of processes and drivers, and something is wrong with it, especially if you use an older version like I do. It creates the Backup, and it will probably even do a fresh restore, but when you try to restore a backup, it fails.

When I ran the backup restore in Windows 7, it started the sync like it was supposed to do on Windows 10- It's about halfway into restoring my apps. So Keep Windows 7 on a partition somewhere if at all possible, if you run across the same failure. I would set up as new and re-download my apps, but I have data backed up in a lot of these so I have no choice but to get it to work. But definitely shut off Smart Screen filter, and you may need to turn off DEP on the iTunes executable file, it's in the same place as it's been in 7 and 8.

 

The following works for me:

You can go to the folder where iTunes is located and right-click on the iTunes application icon. Go to properties and select the compatibility tab. Then check Run This Program As An Administrator. Afterwards, you should be able to sync your iPod/iPhone/iPad without getting the insufficient access privileges error.
