    System and applications sound issue


    Good day all, Previously, Windows updates seemed to stall and would fail. Today, the latest WIN10 updates went through and the update tool shows green and that all is well and current. My music and films/audio play just fine. There is one problem, all of the Windows sounds for any sorts of prompts such as incoming mail or errors all sound the same, a brief blast of white noise. I was advised by a Microsoft tech, in an online chat, to update my sound drivers. They check fine and are current. I can either spend time and others' time to troubleshoot this or simply turn off

    Good surround sound headset

    I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue System and applications sound issue :p
