  1. System Button Face color on Office 2016

I am running Office Professional Plus 2016 on Windows 10 Enterprise. Previously I had Office 2013 on Windows 8.1.

All Office interfaces, particularly the forms I build in Access 216 all objects colored with System Button Face now appear "washed out".

I cannot find anywhere in the global Personalization settings or in the Office theme settings (white or color) where I can correct the appearance or definition of System Button Face.

Here's how a snippet of my main user form appeared under Office 2013 / Windows 8.1:

    Here's how it now appears:

I can force color to a gray equivalent, but then buttons take on a theme. Buttons lose their 3D appearance. And other elements (tabs on tab controls, for example) still cannot be properly colored.

No, I am not interested in changing the old-school, Microsoft battleship gray look. I like it. It conveys gravitas.

Basically, System Button Face now renders as white on my workstation. How can I restore it to its former glory? I have been all over the Windows control panel and various Office settings and cannot find a solution.

    :)

Give Office 2016 Start Menu Tiles Colored Backgrounds

After upgrading to Office 2016, I have noticed that the start menu tiles lost their colorful backgrounds and were reverted back to the accent color. Here is how to fix that so the tiles have colored backgrounds.

This guide shows you go to go from this:
    Attachment 113103
    To this:
    Attachment 113105

    Step 1
Navigate to your Start Menu folder
Typically can be found at: "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs"

    Step 2
Find the shortcut for one of the Office suite apps and rename it to anything you want.

    Step 3
Reopen the Start Menu, the page will refresh and the tile will now be colored (assuming you have pinned it on the front page)

    Step 4 (Optional)
Rename the shortcut back to its original name, the tile will still remain colored.

    Enjoy *Wink

Office 2016 programs are not grouped under Microsoft Office 2016

    Hi,

To address your concern, you can compress the view of your Microsoft Office programs inside a single folder in the Start Menu. To do this, follow the steps below:

    • Go to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs.
    • Right-click on a blank space, click New > Folder.
    • Rename the New Folder as Microsoft Office 2016 (or any name that you want).
    • Highlight all the Microsoft Office 2016 programs.
    • On your keyboard, press Ctrl + X (make sure that all programs are highlighted).
    • Double-click Microsoft Office 2016 folder (the folder that you've created).
    • On your keyboard, press Ctrl + V.
    • Wait until all the programs are moved to the new folder.
    • Check the Start Menu if the settings are saved.

Let us know the outcome after you perform steps above for us to assist you further.
