  1. System Failures

I have posted on here once before about my laptop. I was having an issue where I couldn't install updates from the settings menu. I kept getting errors. I eventually was able to re-install Windows 10 and everything was working okay until there were updates to install. It is doing it again. I won't be able to open Skype for weeks on end. The window will pop up when I click on it and then immediately disappear. Chrome also stopped opening for a bit. I also cannot open any picture files such as jpg and png as it says the photo viewer program is not in the location the computer says it is in. When trying to install update KB4559309 and KB4565351, I get error code 0x80070002. When trying to install update KB4570723, I get error code 0x80073712. I use the built in Windows antivirus software and it always comes back clean. I use this laptop for Microsoft Word and Powerpoint files, as well as Skype, Chrome, and Adobe Reader. I have tried resetting the computer and leaving my personal files and doing a reset and losing my personal files. Both are interrupted before being finished and saying there was an error and nothing was changed. I have not tried what I did last time as I don't remember exactly what I did and I don't want to keep doing that every time there is a new update. I have also attached a photo of my specs. Please don't tell me the problem is my RAM. I know I don't have a bunch of RAM. I use this laptop for very few things. I've had it for about two years and never had these issues until the beginning of this year. System Failures f8c6d527-161d-4b7e-8a98-ba1a02c11e03?upload=true.png

    System restore failure windows 10

    Hi Jack,

I realize the inconvenience you are facing. Let me help you in resolving the issue.

I suggest you to run System file checker. System File checker (SFC) scan is done to check if there are any corrupted system files that could be causing this issue. Kindly follow the below given steps:

    • Press Windows key + X, select
Command prompt (Admin) to bring up elevated Command prompt.

    • In Command prompt type
      sfc /scannow
      and press enter.

    • Restart the computer.

If no corrupted system files were found in the previous state, then I suggest you to try the following steps:

    • Open command prompt by pressing
Windows key + X and selecting “Command prompt admin”.

    • In command prompt, type the following commands and press Enter after each command:

      DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

      DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
    • Close the command prompt and restart the PC and check if it works.
Keep us posted on Windows related queries and we will be happy to assist you further.
