System Restore has been going for hours.

I wanted to make space on the C: drive of my new laptop Samsung Galaxy Book Flex 15.6 using a micro SD card as permanent storage. The laptop has a built in card reader specifically for expanding storage, so I installed a brand new 1tb card and formatted it the way my limited computer manual instructed. I have a lot of movies more than 162gb and tried moving the folder onto the card or D: drive. After over an hour the folder had moved but only about one third of the movies. The files were there, but showed as empty. The original Video folder and all of my movies were still on the C: drive. So, I tried to change the location of my Videos folder from C: drive to D: drive. I'd rather clean duplicates than accidentally deleting something. The process took a few hours again and it seemed to work at first. As I went through the files they started to disappear.

I tried to change my folder settings so that nothing was hidden and other things, but could not find all of my movies. The card shows that the space is being used but only 32gb are movies I can get to.

I am beyond my skill level, so I thought that I would try restoring my computer to my last backup point and just slowly cut and past each movie from C: to D:. I have been using the recommended and preinstalled Samsung PC Cleaner to clean my computer and make backup points at least once a week or every time I change something like installing a new app. So, I went to my most recent backup point and it's been "restoring the registry" for almost 4 hours. I read that 3rd party AV may interfere with the process and I do use Norton. Could Norton be what's causing all of these issues? Should I shut down my laptop and try a System Restore with Norton turned off? Or is there another way that I can get all of my movies back?

    :)

Windows system restore - taking 2 hours plus ?

Tried a system restore on 2 occasions today.

First session ran for over 2hrs with the screen saying "Please wait while etc etc".

Read that if runs more than an hour it may be frozen and suggests a hard reset of the device.

The second session is doing the same restoring for 2 hours plus.

Is this expected or an error/fault somewhere on the system causing it run more than an hour etc.
