Windows 10: System Restore

I assume this comes under software? I was reading an article, claiming to be for Win 7,8 and 10. I was looking to remove the shortcut arrows off my icons (something I dislike). It told me to create a system restore and do a tweak in Registry. Not a problem very easy but it did not work, instead it replaced icons with a black square. So I looked for sys restore and cant find it anywhere. So I went back into registry and removed what had been put in and its fine now and arrows have gone too!!. But - where the heck is system restore in win 10 home? (1809)

Missing icons / buttons after System Restore

To address your concern, we suggest that you try to undo the restore or pick another restore point.

Please follow these steps to access system restore:

• Right-click (or press and hold) the Start button, and then select Control Panel.
  
• Search Control Panel for Recovery.
  
• Select Recovery > Open System Restore > Next.

On another note, we also suggest that you check the Windows Defender settings and lower down the security if it is on high security. This can also be another issue why it is preventing an update to be installed.
