Windows 10: Tagging in Foobar2000

Can someone help explain how to get Foobar to do song tagging automatically?
I'm using Foobar v1.4.6, but when I want to rip a CD to MP3 files, I end up doing all the tagging manually.
In Foobar, I click File>Open Audio CD & choose Rip, but this is what I get:

Cleaning up music tags with foobar2000

I've been struggling with Nokia's buggy Ovi Player as it's quite quick and easy at transferring CDs.

However it's been messing up the music tags when ripping CDs (especially the older versions).



Perhaps I'm the only one who didn't know about it (or was stupid enough to persavere with Ovi Player) but tonight I installed foobar2000, which is freeware, and extremely powerful at organising and editing your music tags.



So if you're having problems with the bugs in OVI Player then I'd recommend organising your collection in foobar2000.



And in the unlikely event you work for Nokia and are reading this then install foobar2000 and see how something works with (as far as I can tell) no bugs - and then make Ovi Player work in the same way.

MP3/FLAC Tags Not Displayed Entirely

1. What were the changes made to this computer prior to the issue?
2. Are you facing this issue only with the music files?

Meanwhile, try the below methods and check if this helps.

Method 1: Updating Tags Information.

Step 1: Open Windows Media Player and go to
Library > Music. Then, add all the music files and folders.

Step 2: Then, go to Tools and click on Apply
media information changes > Restart the computer once and check for the issue.

Method 2: SFC Scan.

I suggest you to use the System File Checker tool to check for any system file corruption
and see if this helps. Restart the computer once after the scanning is completed and check for the issue.

Method 3: Using The Fix Metadata Charset From Foobar2000.

Step 1: Download the Chacon Plugin for foobar2000 and install it. To install the plugin, first unzip it
> Open foobar2000 player > Go to Library/Configure and click on
Components > Drag and drop unzip chacon dll file onto Components pane and click
Apply.

Step 2: Then, add all the music files to the foobar2000 Player > Select the files that you want to fix (You can also select all the music files at a time) >
Right-click on the music file > Click on Tagging >
Fix Metadata Charset menu.

Step 3: In the Fix Metadata Charset dialog, find a charset under
Original Charset dropdown that potentially matches the one used in your file.

Step 4: Once completed, restart the computer once and check for the issue.

Give it a shot and let us know of any changes.

Clear the 'cache' in file explorer for already used picture tags?


If you set some tags for your *.jpg pictures, the windows 10 file explorer shows them in the "details pane" on the right side.





This list can get very long and with some wrong or no longer used entries.
How can I clear this list / cache / suggestions?

Or how can I stop the file explorer to suggests already used Tags?
