Task bar open applications have randomly expanded

Hello,I recently restarted my windows 10 OS computer and my task bar identifiers for open applications are now filling my task bar whenever they are opened. I'm not seeing any resizing options in the taskbar options nor an answer online. Wondering what happened and how I can reset it so that open applications do not fill the entirety of my taskbar. Please see attached image of what my current bar looks like with only this firefox browser window open.

    :)

Task Bar Open Applications Expanding Icon with Text, Turn Off?

Did this just change on my Windows 10 system? In the task bar my icons are expanding to an icon and about 20 characters of text when the application is open? Can not see anything in task bar setting to turn this behavior off? Any ideas, thanks.
