Windows 10: Taskbar and desktop icons keep flickering randomly

I'll start this off by saying I have a Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 2. Yesterday I was running a simulation software for a project and my laptop suddenly crashed with the message "Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart".

Since this, my taskbar and icons on the desktop keep randomly flickering. I ran SFC Scan but it did not detect any problems. I also performed DISM but to no avail either. When booting into safe mode, the problem does not occur whatsoever.

Is there anything I can do to attempt to fix this?

Flickering Icons in Taskbar

Hi there,

I just installed Windows 10 in my PC.

Things were going on well until the second day after installation when my icon in the taskbar started to flicker non stop.

Progressively, the rest of the icon on the desktop started to flicker and go "crazy", eventually going black.

Can someone tell me what is going on and what I can do to remedy this problem.

System Icons on taskbar

Hi,

Are you referring to the clock system icon on the taskbar?

If so, I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below:

• 
  Click on the search bar on the taskbar.
  
• 
  Type system icons.
  
• 
  Under Turn System Icons ON or OFF, turn On the Clock and check with the issue.
