taskbar not autohiding, and invades fullscreen games

I got help from support fixing a display problem just the other day. They had me reinstall updates that didn't update properly, and fix a few drivers. About half an hour later, my device updated again, and since then my taskbar has been frustrating me. It refuses to auto-hide, in both tablet and laptop mode, and when playing fullscreen games, such as Minecraft, the taskbar stays on the screen, covering parts of the game. It covers most other apps as well, such as google chrome and medibang paint, even when not in fullscreen. Any way I can trouble shoot this?

    :)

  3. Autohide Taskbar in Desktop Mode

    Hi Niel,

In rare cases, you may be having an issue with Autohide Taskbar in desktop mode when you when you just recently did an upgrade on your PC. Autohide Taskbar Option might have got unchecked during the process. We would suggest you try the following steps to enable
Autohide taskbar and check if it makes any difference.

    a. Right-click on the Taskbar.

    b. Click on Properties.

    c. Put a check mark next to ‘Auto-hide’ the taskbar.

    d. Click on Apply and OK.

    Update us with the result.

Taskbar will not hide if any app is in fullscreen mode

All of a sudden, now when I put any app in fullscreen, the taskbar remains in place.

I have to set the host taskbar to autohide to see the fullscreen.

It is really annoying in a hyper-v session as it hides the vm taskbar unless I autohide host taskbar

This just started recently - any ideas guys?

edit: found solution - I had to kill windows explorer.exe service from task manager and reboot. Problem sorted!
