Windows 10: Taskbar not responding in Windows 11

Discus and support Taskbar not responding in Windows 11 in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; None of the items on the taskbar work except the pinned applications like browsers and such.     Taskbar not responding in Windows 11


    None of the items on the taskbar work except the pinned applications like browsers and such. Pressing the Windows key does not open the start menu. Clicking on the internet, sound, or Windows Defender icon does nothing. After repeatedly tapping on them a message appears saying 'We're updating Windows Shell Experience Host. It should be ready to use agin shortly.' I've tried to follow the advice on another thread 'https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windowserver/forum/all/problem-with-windows-shell-experience-host/78d8ba8f-4fce-4247-bbf9-f52fa3dce15e' but following these steps does nothing

    Windows 11 Taskbar and other UI elements do not respond to mouse clicks.

    I fresh installed Windows 11 about 48 hours ago. After updates and other software installations the taskbar became unclickable/usable. The steps laid out in fix the taskbar twice. However after a restart the taskbar returns in inoperable. After the latest restart, the steps laid out in the link above no longer work.

    In addition to the taskbar, other elements that do not respond to mouse clicks are The BUY window that appears when purchasing a Movie through the Movies and TV app.

    Lastly, the entire Screen Snip app is unclickable. There are more UI elements that are unclickable but I listed these items due to their easy communicability.

    Windows 10 Taskbar icons missing/ not responding!

    Windows 10 may have encountered a system file corruption that caused this taskbar issue. For us to assist you with this, kindly answer the following questions:

    • Have you made any recent changes to your computer prior to this issue?
    • What is the current build and version of your Windows 10? To check, type in
      winver on the search bar and press Enter.

    Meanwhile, we suggest that restart the Windows Explorer.exe to refresh your taskbar functionality by following the steps below:

    • Open Task Manager
      by right clicking the taskbar.
    • Click More details at the bottom to expand the Task Manager window.
    • Under the Processes tab, look for Windows Explorer.
    • After selecting the Windows Explorer, click the Restart
      button at the bottom.
    • It may take a few seconds and things like your taskbar and Start menu may disappear momentarily, but when it restarts, things should behave better and you can exit Task Manager.
