Windows 10: Taskbar problems

My hard drive crashed and a new one needed to be installed. Bestbuys installed a new hard drive and reinstalled Windows 10. Of course everything that was on the old hard drive is gone and everything needed to be re-installed and/or re-created.

Somehow while I was busy with this task, I managed to do something to my Task Bar. I located the task bar at the bottom of my screen. The Start icon on the lower left hand side used to bring bring up the Start menu including shutdown/restart function. This no longer works. Using the right-click mouse on the task bar will bring this up, but it still will not shutdown.

At this point the only way to shut off the computer is the button on the tower.

I went to Bestbuys and they said I managed to flip the functions from the left side of the task bar to the right side.

I have tried everything I know to try to flip it back, but no luck.

Can anybody help me?

Problem with a combine taskbar icons.

In Windows 10, you can personalize the settings of your taskbar. If there are multiple applications opened, same applications will be combined under one taskbar button. If you want to change this setting, we suggest that you follow the steps listed below:

• Press the Start button.
• Click on the Settings app.
• Select Personalization.
• At the left side of your window, click on Taskbar.
• Under Combine taskbar buttons, choose Never.

System Icons on taskbar

Are you referring to the clock system icon on the taskbar?

If so, I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below:

• 
  Click on the search bar on the taskbar.
  
• 
  Type system icons.
  
• 
  Under Turn System Icons ON or OFF, turn On the Clock and check with the issue.

Did you try the “Auto-hide the taskbar” option from Taskbar properties?



If you have not tried it, I would suggest you to follow these steps and auto-hide the taskbar:

• Right click on Taskbar.
• Click on Properties
• Check the box Auto-hide the taskbar.
• Click on OK.
