Windows 10: Taskbar showing Desktop icons

So, my taskbar suddenly grew to twice the size and I do not know what happened. Here's an image:





I would like to shrink it down back to regular size and get rid of the "Desktop" category showing the "This PC," "Libraries" and "Network Folder" etc.

Remove Linux Desktop Icons

I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.

 

Desktop icons moved to taskbar menu

Please try this:

• Right click an empty part of the Desktop and choose 'View' - Show Desktop Icons
• Right click the Taskbar, select 'Toolbars' and uncheck Desktop

 

System Icons on taskbar

Are you referring to the clock system icon on the taskbar?

If so, I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below:

• 
  Click on the search bar on the taskbar.
  
• 
  Type system icons.
  
• 
  Under Turn System Icons ON or OFF, turn On the Clock and check with the issue.
