Windows 10: Taskbar thumbnail previews turn to blank whenever I turn off my HTiB system!

Hi guys,

I have a long time annoying issue where my taskbar thumbnail previews become blank every time I turn off my HTiB (Home-Theater-In-A-Box) system!

Here's my settings:

OS: Windows 10 Pro 1909 x64

Visual Effects: Adjust for best appearance

GPU: nvidia GTX 1050 Ti (driver v388.59, I know it's too old, but the newer versions had some issues with my audio settings!)

Desktop Resolution: 3840 x 2160 @ 60Hz

Scale and layout: 250%

Multiple displays: Duplicate these displays

HTiB System: Samsung HT-F6500

Connectivity: HDMI cable

Any thoughts how to fix this thing?

Turn off taskbar thumbnail previews in Windows 10 Pro?

Sorry, newbie question....I just migrated to Windows 10 from Windows 7 and I don't like the behavior of Windows 10 where when you hover over a taskbar app at the bottom of the screen, it gives you a thumbnail preview of any open windows in the apps.

I prefer the previous behavior of Windows 7, where you got a *text list* of the open windows for each app, but not a thumbnail for each app.

I found a supposed fix online at: Turn Off Taskbar Thumbnail Previews in Windows 7/8/10 .

The fix was called "Turn Off Taskbar Thumbnail Previews in Windows 7/8/10"

I followed the instructions to disable taskbar previews in group policy, and I found the correct setting to toggle, but even after rebooting the machine, it didn't seem to work.

Any ideas?

Using Windows 10 Pro.

You need to create ExtendedUIHoverTime and set the Value to 30000. This will stop the thumbnail previews from showing up.
