    Taskbar Toolbar Renders TOO SLOW

I will click on my toolbar that opens a folder on my D: drive and periodically it will take forever to render. It just pops up an empty/blank.

Then after 30 or so seconds, it will fill with my small number of files.

It will then pop up quickly for say the next 3 or 4 times and then again go into LaLa land taking a long time to render.

I've gone into Safe Mode, but the problem persists.

It appears to me that it isn't necessarily the toolbar that's the issue, but that something is happening very minute or so that is tying up my machine making click actions none responsive it seems, even giving me the blue circle wait thingy next to my cursor.

Since I'm not able to do much for what feels like 30 seconds each time this occurs, I can't run task mgr to see if there is a process eating up 100% cpu or something.

    Ideas?

    :)

how to eliminate up/down arrows in taskbar and show all icons

That depends if your taskbar can fit all apps in one line.

If it is giving you up\down arrows sounds like it can't.

But what you can do is eliminate what you don't need by right clicking the taskbar and selecting toolbars and remove the ones you don't want.

Also right clicking the taskbar selecting taskbar settings and fiddling in there for what you need or don't need.

Personally what I do is put my apps on my desktop as a shortcut and then i have the Desktop toolbar on my taskbar from there i can click on the desktop toolbar and it will give me all my apps on my desktop plus folders too. That way my taskbar isn't so cluttered.

    Hopefully that makes sense.

  3. Task bar resize

The double bar probably means some toolbar is shown.

Right Click the Taskbar>Toolbar>Hide the toolbars shown.

Unlock the Taskbar by unchecking Lock the taskbar and then try dragging it to smaller size.

Check the integrity of the operating system.
Check the performance in clean boot with a new user.

Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste these commands:
    1) winver (in the pop up about windows view the windows version and build and post this information into the thread)
    2) sfc /scannow
    3) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    4) chkdsk /scan
    5) net user test /add
6)When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on copy > paste into the thread
    7) msconfig (in the pop up system configuration > move the dot from normal startup to selective startup > uncheck load startup items > click service tab > in left lower corner check hide all Microsoft services > in the lower right side click disable all > click apply or ok > do not reboot)
    8) taskmgr (in the pop up task manager > click on the start up tab > click on status so that the column sorts with enable rising to the top > right click on each row with enable and change to disable)
    9) shutdown /r (you will reboot the computer so that it is in clean boot)

I've gone through all the steps outlined in zbook's post.

I've booted into Clean Boot under the Test User account setup.

The system still has some kind of hangup intermittently.

To better demonstrate, here is a video clip I have uploaded.

    http://www.screencast.com/t/gq6o1duNF

    Please watch till the end.

Note: 10 seconds is missing from the time I click on the "Analysis" toolbar because even the screen camera software (SnagIt 12) freezes before resuming the recording.

Now this issue does not happen every time I click the "Analysis" toolbar link in the taskbar. It can happen after 4 successful renderings, then when it happens, it might not happen again for another 4-6 renderings, etc.

So in other words, I can click this link and all the files pop up quick enough. And again. And again. And then...blank! You can't do anything else either. If you click other things while it has yet to completely render this popup, it will go into blue circle spinny mode, and if you persist, the whole system goes unresponsive with the screens going translucent white for a long period. You just have to WAIT until it is done (and you can see how long that is plus 10 additional seconds not recorded).

What could this be when I have gone completely clean boot? Puzzled.

In the left lower corner type control > open control panel > view large or small icons > click troubleshooting > in the left pane click view all > run video playback and hardware and devices.
For each make sure you view detailed information.
Post images of anything that was fixed or could not be fixed.

Okay. I get what you mean.

No problems with Video. The video I shared was to show the problem I am having when clicking the toolbar.

The hardware did some changes, so I have to reboot now. Be back!

    It didn't fix the problem.

Boot up is slower. Icons take forever to show up on desktop. (even before the hardware and devices fix).

    No improvement.

K, lets address the couple of Event ID 7011 first to see if helps your issue.

Event ID 7011 - Wsearch (this may take a few minutes)
    Rebuild Search Index
Rebuild Search Index in Windows 10 Windows 10 Performance Maintenance Tutorials

    Event ID 7011 - CDPSvc
    Open Command Prompt as Admin
    sc config CDPSvc start= disabled
    sc config CDPUserSvc start= disabled

    Event ID 7000 - CldFlt
Didn't see in your list, but go ahead and do this also
    sc config CldFlt start= disabled

Still in Command Prompt do a clean shutdown
    shutdown /s /f /t 0

    Thank you for your responses.

My system is still indexing (slowly). Meanwhile...

I've disabled the three items you listed.

Will disabling the CDP affect my connected devices? Printers? Camera? etc?

    No, should not affect them.
