Windows 10: The 2-in-1 device cannot switch to tablet mode

My 2-in-1 device can't switch to tablet mode when the keyboard isn't connected.That is, the taskbar does not appear as touch-optimized.I can't find out what's the problem,and my system is version 22581.200 of dev channels

The concern you have encountered may be due to a corrupted file or a misconfigured setting. Windows 10's Tablet Mode provides a more touch-friendly experience by making all applications run at full screen and giving you a Start screen instead of a Start Menu.
If you have a 2-in-1 device, Windows 10 asks you if you want to enter tablet mode every time you convert your notebook into a slate. Kindly follow the steps below to sort out the concern:

• Click Settings from the Start menu
  
• Click System, then select Tablet Mode in the left panel. A tablet mode submenu appear
  
• Toggle "Make Windows more touch-friendly . . ." to on to enable Tablet mode. Or off to go to desktop mode
  
• Configure the "When this device automatically switches" menu to let Windows 10 to switch modes on your 2-in-1 prompt or not prompt you.

Asus 2 in 1 will not automaticly switch to tablet mode when flipped in Windows 10 after changing the HDD to SSD

From your description, I understand you are not able to switch to tablet mode when tilted to tablet function after replacing HDD with SSD and re-installing Windows 10 on ASUS R554LA 2 in 1 device.



Before assisting further, I would like to ask you few questions:

  Which Display options did you fiddle with?
  
• 
  Did you check if Tablet mode is enabled in the system
  Settings?
  

You may be facing the above issue due to the status of Tablet mode set to
Off in system Settings. Setting the Tablet mode to
Off status in the system Settings will not enable the tablet function on your device.



Follow the steps below to enable Tablet mode on your device and check if the issue is resolved.

  Press Windows key on the keyboard, type
  Tablet mode settings and select the top most search result.

  Check if Make Windows more touch-friendly when using your deice as a tablet is in
  On status under Tablet mode. If not, slide the bar to
  On status and check if the changes are effective.

  You can also change other Tablet mode settings from the same page by opting for any option under
  When this device automatically switches tablet mode on or off.

Automatically enable touchscreen when switching to tablet mode

I am Ganesh Gandhi, an Independent Advisor. I am here to work with you on this problem.

Kindly follow these steps to set the activation of touch screen automatic when switching to tablet mode, without having to change the settings from the Device manager.

1. Open Settings in Start Menu.

2. Open 'System'

3. In the options "Select Tablet mode" in the left pane.

Tablet mode submenu will appear.

4. You can Toggle "Make Windows more touch-friendly . . ." to on to enable Tablet mode. Toggle it off to go to desktop mode. (This is required for tablet)

3. You have to select "Don't ask me and always switch" from the "When this device automatically switches" menu .
