I put together a new PC recently and after only a few days I started getting this error. It seems to happen at random, anywhere from 6 days apart to 6 hours apart.

I have searched through posts and, at least from what I have read, it may be indicative of a failing piece of hardware or a heat issue. I'm pretty certain it's not heat, as my CPU temps are about 26C idle and 35C to 38C under load. I am still well within the RMA window for the components but I want to make certain that is what it is before I start the process.

    Full system specs:

MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon motherboard

    Intel i7 9700K

    G.SKILL Ripjaws 32GB DDR4 2666

    EVGA Geforce RTX 2080 Ti

Western Digital Blue SN550 NVMe M.2 1TB x 2 For installing applications, mostly games

Mushkin RAW series 250GB SATA6 SSD For windows and non gaming applications

Seagate Baracuda ST2000DM001 2TB SATA6 HD Carried over from my previous build as a storage drive, uninstalled applications, pictures, music etc.

    EVGA SuperNOVA 850watt PSU

The only thing I can think of that may be causing it other than defective hardware is that the motherboard application MSI Dragon Center, by default, overclocks my CPU to 4.6GHz. The stock frequency of my CPU is 3.6GHz, and while it is a K processor I have no intention of overclocking, I picked it for its higher default clock rate. Even while overclocked the temps are only about 2 degrees higher idle and about 4 degrees higher under load.

I used the application to set the clock rate back to default, but while typing this up I noticed that it had defaulted back to the overclocked state. My only guess if this is the cause of the crashes is that, since I have no desire to overclock, the RAM I purchased is not of a higher speed and thus is causing issues when Dragon Center overclocks my system. It has been over 15 years since I have done any meaningful overclocking so this is just a stab in the dark.

Either way, I am just trying to get confirmation on what may be causing this so I can decided my next course of action overclocking = uninstall Dragon Center, bad hardware = RMA

    System Reboot for Bugcheck 0x00000124

    Hi Guys,

I recently purchased a MSI laptop (GT72VR 6RE), and upgraded Win 10 version from Home to Pro. Performed the upgrade as soon as I fired up the laptop for the first time.

Last couple of weeks, while working on Google Drive (via Chrome) the computer will suddently lock up, and after couple of seconds reboot.

Checking Event Viewer, it shows the following events:
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000124 [IMG]

Details for the listed events in sequence:
    • The previous system shutdown at 4:48:27 PM on ‎5/‎09/‎2016 was unexpected.
    • The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.
    • Audit events have been dropped by the transport. 0
    • The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ACPI\ENE0110\5&14353508&0.
    • A corrected hardware error has occurred.
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000124 [IMG]
    • A corrected hardware error has occurred. (same as above)
    • The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000124 (0x0000000000000000, 0xffffe0002c0c2028, 0x00000000be000000, 0x0000000000800400).

It has happened twice so far and that has me bit worried.
Previous one had the following bugcheck error:
    • The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000001e (0xffffffffc0000005, 0xfffff800765cd8b8, 0x0000000000000000, 0x00000000000000a0).

Would really appreciate if someone can point out anything.

It is a brand new laptop (couple of weeks old). And both the times when it crashed, I was using Chrome (google drive, or writing email etc), wasn't playing games. The CPU/GPU isn't overclocked either.

    Thanks in advance.
